Citizenship

The school policy is to treat political issues in such a way that they reflect responses to a range of social and economic issues that are typical in our society. We always try to explore those issues in an objective way and allow time for a balanced discussion of all sides of argument. Each of our students has his or her own views and these may change and develop as he or she grows older. We always stay within the guidelines as published by the Education Authority and the DCSF. We prepare students for the responsibilities of adult life through work on Citizenship and Personal, Social and Health education. The school has introduced a National GCSE Citizenship course for Key Stages 3 and 4 taught by a specialist team of teachers and there is a short course GCSE in Citizenship for Years 10/11.
