Key Stage 3 (years 7,8 & 9)
In Years 7-9 students all study the National Curriculum subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, French, History, Geography, ICT, Religious Education, Physical Education, Art, Music, Drama and PSHE (including Citizenship).
In the first half term of Year 7 students are given an induction
into Secondary School learning through a cross curricular Learning
to Learn programme. Students are then placed into groups according
to ability for English, Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Language
and some additional foundation subjects. Students who start KS3 with
SATs levels below 4 in English and Mathematics are given additional
support with literacy and numeracy in place of French.
In order to get the best from our students we use a wide variety
of approaches including practical activities, group work, discussions,
ICT, independent learning and whole class teaching.
