The John Roan School Association (JRSA) is a parent led body supported by the school.
Its main functions are:
We generally meet every half term. Meetings are attended by Des Malone, the headteacher, so it’s a great opportunity to find out what’s currently happening at John Roan from the horse’s mouth (sorry Des, no offence intended).
We aim to hold an event each term. We have held a Quiz Night for parents/carers for the last 3 years which has been very popular and well supported and certainly supports that old homily about taking part rather than winning.
Multi-Cultural Event – John Roan is a truly diverse school and this Autumn term we are looking to support that diversity by holding a celebration event involving pupils, teacher, parents and carers with food, drink and music from across the cultures that form the life of the school.
Fun Run – John Roan Sports Ground has hosted our 3 mile fun run around the fields for the last two years, with a barbecue, pupil/parent cricket game and stalls selling books and fair trade produce.
All meetings will be at 7.15pm held in the Sixth Form at Maze Hill.
