Buildings and Facilities
The school is set out on two very different sites. The Westcombe Park site is a modern building set among trees with areas for quite recreation and games. The Maze Hill site is a listed building in a leafy area on the edge of Greenwich Park.
Both buildings are well equipped and have similar teaching facilities
which include science laboratories, technology areas, gyms, libraries
and computer network rooms. The school has its own excellent, well
maintained playing fields used for a host of sporting activities
both within the curriculum and for school teams and extra curricular
clubs.
The John Roan School has its own outdoor activity centre in the Lake District. Built on 40 acres of land given to the school and left in trust by Arthur Hope, a former Headteacher, the Braithwaite centre is the focus for our outdoor activities allowing pupils to follow a wide variety of outdoor pursuits. Here, students can experience the beauty of this spectacular countryside, and the challenge and excitement of outdoor life.
