Homework
Research has shown that at Secondary School level there is a direct link between time spent on homework and achievement. At The John Roan we set homework according to a strict timetable in order to: help our students become independent learners, encourage self discipline, consolidate the learning which has happened in classrooms, or complete coursework. A broad outline of the homework for the year is published to parents of KS3 students at the start of the academic year. Homework achievement is formally assessed and reported on at half term intervals.
